For Parents

Holding the Parent

Parenting a neurodivergent child can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel exhausting, overwhelming, and lonely at times.

Many parents find themselves carrying a great deal: advocating for their child at school, navigating assessments and waiting lists, supporting big emotions, managing family life, and often worrying about whether they are getting it right.

In the midst of supporting everyone else, parents are frequently left without a space to be supported themselves.

I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space for parents of neurodivergent children and young people. Whether your child has a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or you are beginning to wonder whether they may be neurodivergent, our sessions provide an opportunity to pause, reflect, and feel held in your own experience.

Together we might explore:

  • The emotional impact of parenting a neurodivergent child

  • Feelings of overwhelm, stress, anxiety, or burnout

  • School-related challenges and advocacy

  • Supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing

  • Family relationships and communication

  • Managing uncertainty following diagnosis or during assessment processes

  • Reconnecting with your own needs and wellbeing

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, recognising that neurodivergence is a natural variation of human experience rather than something to be fixed. My aim is not to provide quick solutions, but to help you feel more supported, informed, and resourced as you navigate your family’s unique journey.
